OTTAWA, May 19 /CNW/ - Chicken Farmers of Canada salutes the Prime
Minister's reappointment of the Honourable Gerry Ritz as the Minister
of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
"On behalf of CFC, I want to congratulate Minister Ritz on his
reappointment to the Agriculture portfolio," said David Fuller, Chair
of Chicken Farmers of Canada. "CFC welcomes the opportunity to work
again with Minister Ritz on the issues that impact Canada's chicken
industry. We look forward to working with the Minister and his staff at
AAFC, CFIA and FPCC and we can't wait to write the next chapter in our
growing success story."
CFC looks forward to working with the federal government on its strong
defence of supply management in multilateral and bilateral discussions,
such as CETA and the WTO as well as on issues of food safety, research,
risk management and animal care.
CFC also applauds the appointment of the Honourable Ed Fast as Minister
of International Trade as well as the appointment of Honourable
Christian Paradis as Minister of Industry, in addition to resuming his
responsibilities as Minister of State for Agriculture, and the
reappointment of the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq as Minister of Health.
