Changing Diabetes Bus Rolls into Canada on its Drive Around the World

Londoners encouraged to come on board and help the fight against diabetes

TORONTO, June 1 /CNW/ - After travelling across the globe from Denmark to
South Africa, the Changing Diabetes Bus is rolling into London on June 1,
In hopes of raising awareness about diabetes and encouraging people to
take action on their own behalf to change the future of diabetes, the Changing
Diabetes Bus will travel across Canada during May and June, visiting
Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, London, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.
In 2006, the United Nations acknowledged that diabetes is an epidemic
that is a serious threat to world health. This resolution is a key milestone
in the fight against diabetes. Novo Nordisk has launched the Changing Diabetes
Bus World Tour to raise awareness about diabetes globally. From
coast-to-coast, Canadians will be encouraged to jump aboard the Bus and learn
about what diabetes is, how it can be prevented and how together we can change
the future of diabetes. It is estimated that the Bus will reach more than
one billion people around the world.
The Bus offers a variety of interactive and educational activities to
educate people about diabetes, including DVD recordings and testimonials where
visitors can share their opinions on what they would change in the area of
diabetes, a mirror park and a young voices and kids' corner dedicated to
children and adolescents with diabetes.
Please take this opportunity to welcome the Changing Diabetes Bus to
Canada and see what there is to learn about diabetes and how to prevent this
global epidemic. Don't miss your chance to take part in the worldwide fight
against diabetes.
The Changing Diabetes Bus is free, open to the public, and will be in
London at Banting House National Historic Site on Friday, June 1, 2007 between
the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
