-AIR MILES Reward Program Gives One Million reward miles to One Lucky
TORONTO, Sept. 11 /CNW/ - The AIR MILES Reward Program is conducting the
biggest giveaway in its history - ONE MILLION reward miles - and one lucky
Collector will be crowned Canada's first AIR MILES Mile-ionaire on Sunday,
September 13, 2009. Eleven finalists of the Mile-ionaire contest, who each
were awarded 50,000 AIR MILES reward miles for qualifying, will be treated to
a Toronto VIP weekend including a film festival party hosted by ET Canada
where the winner will be awarded their 1,000,000 reward miles grand prize.
"Never before in our 17-year history have we given one of our Collectors
such a significant value of AIR MILES reward miles," said Neil Everett, chief
marketing officer of the AIR MILES Reward Program. "We had an overwhelming
response to our first Mile-ionaire event and plan on making this an annual
giveaway. The 2009 winner will have the honour of being the first AIR MILES
Mile-ionaire in Canada."
The Mile-ionaire winner will have the option of spending their grand
prize of one million AIR MILES reward miles on an endless array of rewards -
everything from travel and merchandise, to gift cards and charity donations.
One million reward miles is equal to watching 11,400 movies at the theatre -
popcorn and drinks included - or fill the Rogers Centre(TM) with friends and
family five times for Toronto Blue Jays(TM) games. They could also travel
twice a year for life, see the Seven Wonders of the World, have their car
washed 13,333 times or get 19 years of groceries.
- Darryl Silva from Toronto, Ontario: He is planning to donate all of
his reward miles to Big Brother Big Sister of Canada.
- Daniel Lemieux from St. Leonard, Quebec: Daniel will redeem his
reward miles for a trip to Paris.
- Barry Aucoin from Upper Brookside, Nova Scotia: Barry will use his
reward miles to see family and friends and to sightsee in Canada and
- Elizabeth James from Mississauga, Ontario: Elizabeth will redeem her
reward miles to visit family around the world.
- Lorraine Sousa from Burnaby, British Columbia: Lorraine will travel
to visit family and support children's charities like Special

- Leslie Scoury from Medicine Hat, Alberta: Leslie is a huge history
buff and he plans to travel to Vietnam.
- Judy Wells from Etobicoke, Ontario: Judy will take her family and
travel across Europe.

The AIR MILES Mile-ionaire contest was run from May 6 to June 12, 2009
with over 1,000 prizes awarded to AIR MILES Collectors ranging from 100 to
50,000 reward miles. Collectors entered to win in one of four possible ways
including shopping through airmileshops.ca, using coupons from the
Mile-ionaire Giveaway coupon book, paying with their BMO Debit or BMO AIR
MILES Mastercard, or submitting their 'what I would do with a million reward
miles' story at the AIR MILES Community forum at www.airmiles.ca/community.
