TORONTO, Jan. 21 /CNW/ - The Canadian Grocery HR Council (CGHRC) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia Parulekar to the
position of Executive Director of the CGHRC. In her new role, Ms.
Parulekar will be responsible for the leadership and management of the
organization and its Board of Directors.
Ms. Parulekar is committed to furthering the cause of the CGHRC, and its
mandate, stating, "I look forward to continuing and expanding the role
of one of the most effective Sector Councils in the country."
Patricia is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in
public policy, business development, labour relations, and public
affairs. She has led or conducted research in the biotech,
agricultural, medical, pharmaceutical, venture capital and tourism
sectors, while also having worked extensively in health, education,
trade, municipal, labour, constitutional, and finance policy.
Prior to joining the CGHRC, Mrs. Parulekar worked as a Consulting Policy
Analyst for the Thomsen Corporation. She also served as National
Director and CEO of the Canadian School Boards Association.
Ms. Parulekar earned an MBA from Queen's University and a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of
Ottawa. She is also a very active volunteer with many charitable and
arts organizations, and is a Board member of the Ottawa Convention
Centre and Third Wall Theatre Company.
Established in 2003, the Canadian Grocery HR Council (CGHRC) is a
nationally recognized, non-profit organization funded by the Government
of Canada's Sector Council Program that brings together representatives
from business, labour, education, industry associations, government and
other professional groups to support a collective response to the
grocery industry's human resource challenges.
