CGA Mining Limited - Announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange - Recent successful drilling results including 37m of 2.42%Cu, 16m of 1.51% Cu and 17m of 1.39% Cu. - Mkushi project in Zambia

VANCOUVER, Aug. 23 /CNW/ - CGA Mining Limited ("CGA", the "Company")
(ASX: CGX, TSX: CGA) together with its joint venture partner, African Eagle
Plc are undertaking a drill program in Zambia at the Mkushi Copper Project
(CGA interest - 51%), as part of a pre-feasibility study.

    L ZONE

Recent results at the Mkushi project in Zambia, have highlighted the
growing potential of L Zone as a significant resource contributor.
Intersections in MH073 have included 37m at 2.42% Cu from 119m representing
L Zone and in the same hole, several deeper intersections representing H zone,
16m at 1.51% Cu and 17m at 1.39% Cu. Other previously reported L Zone results
include 23m at 1.38%Cu in MH047, 25m at 1.79% Cu in MH061 and 21m at 1.68% Cu
in MH062. A summary of the most recent results is reported in Table 1 below.
Indications are that in the vicinity of these intersections L Zone has a
true width of between 10-25m as a broad single lode extending over
approximately 100m of strike and 150m down dip (refer to Diagram 1 & 2). North
and south of this area, L Zone fragments into a series of narrower
discontinuous lodes of varying grade which are more difficult to correlate but
extending over a further 250m of strike. Of interest in the MH073 intersection
is an unmineralised dolerite dyke in the middle of the L Zone intersection. A
review of relevant RC drill holes and diamond drill holes is being done to
assess whether this dolerite intrusion is of assistance in defining the L Zone
structure, which should prove useful in locating repetitions of similar
mineralisation along strike. The current drilling programme includes PH222 and
PH224 in the core area of L zone to a depth of approx 150m vertically (refer
to Drawing 1). 1,000m of additional diamond drilling is planned to confirm the
current interpretation.

The drilling programme targeting L Zone has stepped out progressively to
the west uncovering new zones of mineralisation in the hanging wall. These
intersections are shallow and often of lower grade than H Zone itself.
However, these grades at shallow depth in both H Zone and L Zone warrant
further testing at depth. The better examples include MH071 6m at 1.52%Cu from
73m, MH073 6m at 0.5%Cu from 71m, and MH075 6m at 1.61% from 129m.
These targets will be tested using RC drilling with short diamond tails
if required: 10 holes are planned for a total of 1,500m.

Drilling by Katanga Resources Limited and CGA in H Zone has typically
stopped 20-30m below the H Zone target. With the recent recognition that the
Mkushi mineralisation exists on more than one shear structure, it is likely
that further mineralisation is present in the footwall of H zone which has
received little testing to date. 15 holes (2,100m) drilling is planned for
targets extending 100m east into the footwall of H Zone.
