PERTH, Western Australia, Oct. 15 /CNW/ - The Board of CGA Mining Limited
("CGA") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Turner (46) to the
position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CGA.
Mark is a highly experienced Mining Engineer who holds a Bachelor of
Engineering (Mining) with Honours from the University of New South Wales, in
Sydney and is also a Chartered Professional (Management) accredited by the
Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Mark has been with Resolute Limited for over sixteen years, the last nine
years as General Manager Operations. He was responsible for all operational
aspects of the group, including managing the operations at Marymia (0.5mtpa),
Chalice (1mtpa), Obotan (2mtpa) in Ghana, Golden Pride (3.3mtpa) in Tanzania,
Ravenswood (5.5mtpa) in Australia and Syama (2.4mtpa) in Mali.
Prior to that Mark held operational positions at Newcrest Mining and
Hamersley Iron (Mt. Tom Price).
Mark has the required operational experience to oversee the Masbate Gold
Project from construction to the operational phase.
ABOUT CGA MINING LIMITED
CGA is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Australian Securities
Exchange. The Masbate Gold Project in the Philippines is currently under
construction and first gold production is due in the first quarter of 2009.
The project has a total indicated resource base of 4.55M ounces, total
inferred resource base of 3.22M ounces and is currently forecast to produce
over 200,000 ounces per annum. The 4Mt pa plant is under construction by
Leighton Contractors Asia Limited ("Leighton"). CGA is completing a scoping
study for the expansion of the plant throughput at Masbate. The mining
contract for the Masbate Gold Project has been awarded to Leighton, the
largest mining contractor in the world. A 30,000m drilling program (22,000m of
which has now been completed) is currently underway at Masbate. CGA is
completing a Feasibility Study into the Mkushi Copper Project in Zambia, which
is due for completion in December 2008. The Company is also currently
undertaking a 10,000m drilling program at Segilola, regarded as Nigeria's most
advanced gold property. CGA has a disciplined acquisition program focused on
acquiring new gold projects with a substantial initial resource with the
capacity to grow materially and where the development and operational
experience of CGA can be applied to enhance shareholder value.

verified the resource statement for the Masbate Project as disclosed in this
