Top honours go to students in Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Alberta and
VANCOUVER, Nov. 10, 2011 /CNW/ - Fourteen students from across the
country have been recognized by the Certified General Accountants
Association of Canada (CGA-Canada) for outstanding academic achievement
in the CGA program of professional studies.

competencies and knowledge. To rank among the brightest students in
Canada is an amazing accomplishment."
Each year CGA-Canada recognizes outstanding academic performance by
awarding the: CGA-Canada Awards of Excellence, the ENCON Group Inc.
Insurance Public Practice Award, the Porter Hétu International Award
and the Top Ten Recognition Awards.
The Awards of Excellence are presented to the highest academic achievers
in each level of CGA program. Award recipients in program levels one to
four receive $1,000, and the professional level award winner receives
$1,500. This year's recipients are: Xuegui Song of Kelowna, British
Columbia (Level 1), Steven Dengin of Abbotsford, British Columbia
(Level 2), Evgeniya Pollock, of Toronto, Ontario (Level 3), Freeha Shan
of Mississauga, Ontario (Level 4) and Irina Razoumova of Surrey,
British Columbia (Professional Level).
Ms. Razoumova is also the recipient of this years' ENCON Group Inc.
Insurance Public Practice Award, worth $5,000, having achieved the
highest average mark in the public practice career option.
Additionally, she has captured the Porter Hétu International Award,
worth $1,500, for attaining the highest final course mark in Auditing 2
and achieving a standing of honours in the Professional Applications
The Top Ten Recognition Awards are granted to students who rank as the
highest academic performers based on the average of their Professional
Applications examinations. The recipients are: Irina Razoumova of
Surrey, British Columbia; Jing Li of Vancouver, British Columbia;
Vanessa Bergen of Buick, British Columbia; Xiaoli Li of North York,
Ontario; Tengyue Ma, of Deep River, Ontario; Lindsay Carter of Stoney
Creek, Ontario; Kamal Goyal, of Brampton, Ontario; Anne Dow-Koughan of
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Yen Ly, of Fort McMurray, Alberta,
and Ioana Marincas, of Calgary, Alberta.
