VANCOUVER, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - The Certified General Accountants Association
of Canada (CGA-Canada) has named its board of directors for 2007-2008.
The newly elected Chair of the association is Ron Colucci, FCGA.
Mr. Colucci, of Mississauga, Ont., is the principal of R.V. Colucci, Certified
General Accountant, a public practice. He has been a public practitioner since
1988 after spending more than a decade in industry in various finance roles.
Mr. Colucci joined the CGA-Canada board of directors in 2002.
"This is a particularly exciting time for us at CGA-Canada as we mark the
association's 100th anniversary in 2008," said Mr. Colucci. "Of course, we
will be celebrating our strong and vibrant past. We will also be continuing to
build on our success as the country's fastest-growing accounting designation
and be expanding our role on the international stage."
Also elected to the board is Tony Ducie, FCGA, as First Vice Chair.
Mr. Ducie, of Saskatoon, Sask., is senior vice president, strategic resources
for Concentra Financial. He joined the CGA-Canada board of directors in 2002.
Terry LeBlanc, FCGA, has been elected Second Vice Chair. Mr. LeBlanc, of
Moncton, New Brunswick, is the account executive responsible for
federal/provincial relations for the Canada Revenue Agency in Atlantic Canada.
Also on the board's executive are:
- Moe Jones, FCGA, of British Columbia. Mr. Jones, retired, was founder
and former partner of Jones, Richards Accounting Practice.
- Joyce Evans, FCGA, of Ontario. Ms. Evans is director of revenue for
the City of Kitchener.
- Pierre Samson, FCGA, of Quebec. Mr. Samson is a partner in the
management consulting firm Samson & Associates.
- Past Chair Jackie Poirier, FCGA, of Nova Scotia. Ms. Poirier is
regional director, human resources, at Canada Revenue Agency in

Claude Howell, CGA, of Nfld. & Labrador; Kent Ferguson, FCGA, of the
N.W.T/Nunavut; Robert Fendrick, CGA, of Yukon; Raymond Yeung, FCGA, and Marcel
Murrell Jr., FCGA, international; and Anthony Ariganello, CPA (DE), FCGA,
CGA-Canada, as Secretary.
