Four fearless pets to be inducted into the Purina Animal Hall of Fame
TORONTO, May 4 /CNW/ - Three courageous pets and one service dog will be
recognized for their life-saving feats at the 41st annual Purina Animal Hall
of Fame induction ceremony today. These unique Canadian heroes displayed
incredible acts of bravery, intelligence and loyalty, truly exemplifying the
special bond between animals and humans.
For the first time, the awards ceremony will be held at PawsWay in
Toronto, Canada's very own pet discovery centre and the proud, permanent home
of the Purina Animal Hall of Fame.
For the past 41 years, The Purina Animal Hall of Fame has recognized
awe-inspiring acts of heroism by animals that have saved human lives. The 2009
inductees were selected from numerous nominations gathered from across the
country and they will join an exclusive group of 142 other incredible, valiant
Canadian pets and service animals.
This year's ceremony will be hosted by comedian and animal enthusiast
James Hartnett, with inductee presentations from Dr. Mike and Aaron from
Animal House Radio, television personality Ken Kostick, and others.
