Celebrate Canada Day with Local Athletes at the Vancouver Hbc Run for Canada

VANCOUVER, June 28 /CNW/ - Join local athletes training for the Olympic,
Commonwealth and Paralympic Games at the annual Vancouver Hbc Run for Canada
on July 1st, 2007. All proceeds from the Run will go to support Canadian
athletes and elite training facilities across Canada. The event, which
includes a 10 km run, a fun-for-all 3 km family walk and a 1 km kids' fun run,
will allow Canadians from across the country to help raise money for local
athletes in their hometown.
In addition to Games hopefuls, members of Olympians Canada will join
local runners and walkers participating in the Run. This is the first time
that all six regional chapters of Olympians Canada have joined together in
support of a single charity event. Olympians Canada enables Olympians in
Canada to establish contact or reunite with fellow Olympians, to celebrate
past achievements and to promote the Olympic movement for the benefit of
future Olympians.
ParticipACTION, along with its partners across the country, will lead the
warm-up sessions for the run. ParticipACTION provides leadership in
collaboration and communications to foster the movement that inspires and
supports Canadians to move more. The newly revitalized ParticipACTION is proud
to join Hbc and Olympians Canada in support of this event.
