New Appointment Provides Clinical Expertise and Supports Strategic
TORONTO, June 11 /CNW/ - Comprehensive Care International (CCI) today
announced the appointment of Dr. William Orovan as Chair of CCI's new
Professional Advisory Committee.
Dr. Orovan has a well-established career with leading healthcare academic
institutions, hospitals, and governing healthcare associations including:
McMaster University where he is currently Professor and Chair of the
Department of Surgery; St. Joseph's Hospital (Hamilton, Ontario) where he was
Chief of the Department of Surgery for 12 years; and the Ontario Medical
Association where he held the position of President for seven years. He also
has a longstanding interest in health care public policy issues, speaking
widely on the future directions of health care both nationally and

national and international projects," says Katherine Jones, president and CEO
of CCI. "Specifically, Dr. Orovan will be responsible for advancing and
expanding the new committee and defining a structure that will oversee and
support the quality of clinical deliverables, monitor the emerging medical
trends of tomorrow, and establish CCI performance standards within several
areas of clinical discipline."
In addition to Dr. Orovan, the new committee will bring together leading
medical educators and practitioners in the areas of: oncology; primary care;
diagnostic imaging; surgery; nursing; and research. Dr. Orovan is currently in
the process of recruiting for these positions.

work and vision of Dr. Denny DePetrillo, CCI's Vice President of Professional
Affairs," continues Jones. "For over 10 years Dr. DePetrillo has been
instrumental in developing and leading CCI's clinical service team, lending
his wealth of expertise in oncology, international medicine, cultural
diversity, and stakeholder relationships."
Dr. DePetrillo has been the physician leader for CCI projects in
Trinidad, Tobago, Brazil, Costa Rica, Egypt, and Montenegro, contributing to
CCI's success through the development of multi-faceted clinical programs for
governments, individual healthcare facilities and industry investors. Dr.
DePetrillo is Professor Emeritus, Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and
Surgery, University of Toronto, and previously Head of Surgery at Princess
Margaret Hospital and Cancer Care Ontario. He is also the Recipient of the
Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ontario Medical Association in recognition
of his many years of outstanding service and leadership. Dr. DePetrillo will
continue to support CCI 's clinical initiatives on selected projects.
