BRAMPTON, ON, Nov. 8 /CNW/ - CAW national and local union representatives
will lobby three Members of Parliament from the Brampton-Mississauga area on
the current manufacturing jobs crisis in Canada, ongoing free trade talks
between Canada and South Korea, and the need for federal government support
toward the auto industry, evidenced by the news of over one thousand layoffs
at Chrysler's Brampton assembly plant.

"Our members at Brampton Chrysler have witnessed, first hand, the impact
of an auto industry that is struggling because of government neglect and
inaction," said CAW Local 1285 President Vince Bailey.
"It is crucial that our local area MPs fully understand the crisis our
community faces, and that they take the voice of autoworkers to Ottawa."
MP's scheduled to be in attendance at tomorrow's meeting include the
Honourable Navdeep Bains (Mississauga-Brampton South), Gurbax S. Malhi
(Bramalea-Gore-Malton), and a representative from the office of Dr. Ruby
