CAW presses Ford for new investment: first Lincoln Town Car off the line

    ST. THOMAS, ON/TORONTO, ON, Jan. 10 /CNW/ - The first Lincoln Town Car
will roll of the line this morning at 9 a.m. at the Ford St. Thomas assembly
plant, bright news for the facility which has been running on one shift since
early 2007.
    The CAW will continue to press Ford Motor Company for a new investment
for its St. Thomas facility as the two sides go into bargaining in the fall.
    Ford announced in January 2006 that it would be eliminating one shift in
early 2007. Currently workers at the St. Thomas facility also make the Ford
Crown Victoria and the Mercury Grand Marquis.
