LONDON, ON, Oct. 6 /CNW/ - CAW President Ken Lewenza will be in London
this evening for the first time as the union's national president, laying out
the CAW's platform of strategic voting. This includes targeted support for
specific candidates, with the goal of preventing a Stephen Harper Conservative
"If Stephen Harper gets the majority government that he's looking for,
years from now we won't be able to recognize this country," said Lewenza.
On behalf of the union, Lewenza will be throwing his support behind NDP
MP Irene Mathyssen in the London-Fanshawe riding, Liberal MP Glen Pearson in
the London North Centre and Liberal MP Sue Barnes in the London West riding.
CAW will be endorsing an ABC strategic voting approach (Anyone But
Conservative) in all other local ridings.
