Cathedral Arts announces Distinguished Speakers for its 2009 Fall Dinner Lecture Series

    OTTAWA, Sept. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - Cathedral Arts, the Arts Programme at
Ottawa's Christ Church Cathedral, announced today that His Excellency Anthony
Cary, High Commissioner for Great Britain, and Mr. Don Newman, O.C.,
award-winning broadcaster and journalist, will be the speakers for its two
2009 Fall Cathedral Arts Dinner Lectures.
    On Monday, September 14th at 6:00 PM, High Commissioner Anthony Cary will
speak on Climate Change: The Road to Copenhagen, exhorting the need for
inspired leadership to meet the immediate challenge of developing an
international framework on climate change at the upcoming United Nations
conference at Copenhagen in December 2009.
    On Monday, November 2nd, Don Newman, O.C. will present Politics with Don
Newman: A Canadian Agenda and How to Achieve It. His talk will outline goals
which Canadians and their governments should strive to achieve, and will
propose ways in which these can be met.
    Both Dinner Lectures start at 6:00 PM and take place in Cathedral Hall,
Christ Church Cathedral, 420 Sparks Street at Bronson. Tickets are $35 each at
tables of eight, and feature a three-course dinner and a cash bar, open prior
to the dinner.

    Cathedral Arts presents concerts, dramatic productions, educational
dinner lectures, and exhibits in the unique setting of Ottawa's historic
Christ Church Cathedral. The non-profit organization is managed by a small
volunteer committee. Profits are reinvested in the arts programme at the
Cathedral or shared with a charitable organization.
