Carolyn Arends to Perform at CBMI Benefit Concert

    TORONTO, April 18 /CNW/ - Award winning Canadian singer/songwriter
Carolyn Arends will be featured at a benefit concert and silent auction on
Saturday, April 21st at the West End CRC Church, 10015-149 St., Edmonton.
    All proceeds will go to Christian Blind Mission International. For only
$33, a blind adult in the developing world will receive a sight restoring
cataract surgery. Organizers expect to raise $25,000.
    Among its many programs, CBMI restores sight through cataract surgeries
and rescues forgotten children who are living in poverty with disabilities.
    Arends, one of Canada's leading artists, earned 2 Dove Awards, 2 Juno
Nominations, and was recognized as the West Coast Music Awards' Songwriter of
the Year. Fifteen of her songs have become top 10 radio singles on the
Canadian pop and US Christian charts.
    The silent auction begins at 5 p.m; benefit concert at 7 p.m. Tickets are
