Carlisle intersects Maclellan zone at depth

TORONTO, April 23 /CNW Telbec/ - Carlisle Goldfields Limited (TSX: CGJ),
(the "Company") continues to receive assay results from diamond drilling
completed during the 2006-07 winter drilling program in the MacLellan Mine
area, Lynn Lake, Manitoba. The drilling program is ongoing as part of the
Company's plan to drill up to 12,000 metres of NQ size core by mid-year 2007
and to complete a Resource Estimate in Q3 2007.
Drillhole 10075-1 was completed, at -79 degrees, to a final length of
767 metres and intersected the MacLellan Mine horizon at a depth of
approximately 600 metres vertically, the deepest intersection known on the
property. Mineralization on this section was seen at 400 metres vertically
previously. This mineralized intersection was a total of 75.6 metres in length
averaging 3.12 g/t, containing the intervals detailed below. This supports the
Company's belief that it is possible to double the historic resource with
deeper drilling. Gold values were encountered a number of narrow, sub-parallel
mineralized zones, in an intercalated sequence of Chloritized Andesites and
Tuffaceous Sediments. Gold values are typically related to quartz-carbonate
veining and/or high sulphide mineral concentrations. Additional assays from
the mineralized area are pending for this hole.
Drillhole 10090-4 was completed, at -55 degrees, to a final length of
320 metres and intersected the MacLellan Mine horizon at a depth of
approximately 110 metres to the east and below known historic resource blocks.
This demonstrates that lateral continuity of the MacLellan Mine horizon to the
east. Additional assays from the mineralized area are pending for this hole.

Estimation of true width is not possible at this time.

The Company expects additional results from the ongoing program in the
near future.
Drill core is logged, photographed and saw split, on site. One half of
the NQ diameter core is shipped to TSL Laboratories, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,
"an ISO 9001:2000" accredited laboratory, for analysis. TSL protocols include
fire assay for Au and Ag with an ICP finish on a crushed and pulverized
sub-sample. The MDL and upper detection limits (UDL) for Au are 5 - 1000 ppb
under this protocol, and 0.2 - 50 ppb for Ag. Above the UDL a gravimetric
method is used for determination on high concentrations. Where high gold
values are encountered and "nugget effect" is suspected the samples are
reprocessed using a "pulp and metallics" procedure.
A quality control program has been implemented to ensure best practices
in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. Certified control standards,
and coarse field blanks were inserted into the sample stream. A program of
analysis of duplicate samples will be undertaken. Mr. Stephen Mlot, P. Eng.,
the President of the Company, is the qualified person.
