WINDSOR, ON, Nov. 19 /CNW/ - CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc.
announced today that it has acquired three publication groups in the
Windsor-Essex County, Ontario area, including Phoenix Media Group Inc.,
Cornerstone Publications Inc., and Sims Publications Inc.
With these acquisitions, CanWest will reach over 30,000 homes in the
Windsor-Essex County region through a total of six new community publications,
including three paid circulation weeklies - The Kingsville Reporter, The
Tilbury Times, and LakeShore News, two total market coverage weeklies -
Shoreline Week and LaSalle Post, and Windsor Parent magazine. As well, CanWest
has acquired the commercial printing assets of Sims Publications.

CanWest has appointed Bob Calvert as interim General Manager of CanWest's
newly created Windsor Community Publishing Group. Reporting to Mr. Leuschner,
Mr. Calvert will oversee operations at the various acquired entities, while a
search is underway for a permanent candidate for the position.
