Cancor Exploration and Development Activities

MONTREAL, April 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Cancor Mines is pleased to provide an
update on the Company's exploration and development activities. Cancor is
progressing along three principal fronts:
Ongoing exploration of existing assets: Cancor is exploring for gold and
base metal deposits (copper and zinc) on its extensive land holdings in the
Abitibi region of Quebec. The Company's Kistabiche, Bonfortel and Poirier
properties, north of Amos, are located in the historic Joutel precious and
base metals mining camp. Its Gemini-Turgeon property is north of La Sarre, in
the Casa Berardi mining camp. A third asset of Cancor, the Allard property,
has excellent gold potential and is located along the Casa Berardi Fault.
Driven by favorable commodity prices, Cancor is planning a new exploration
program which will involve drilling targets on all properties as well as
carrying out a Titan-24 survey on the Joutel assets. Titan-24 is cutting edge
technology with a range of up to 2000 m vertical depth which is used to search
for deep-seated ore bodies that cannot be identified with traditional
geophysical methodologies.
Development of the known resources: Preliminary studies have been
initiated on the known resource deposits on Cancor's properties for
development purposes.
On the Kistabiche Property, SNC Lavalin, on behalf of Cancor, is
completing a feasibility study of the Explo-Zinc base metal deposit. The
results of the feasibility study are expected by the end of April 2007. From
historic data, the EXPLO-ZINC deposit is described as a one million ton
resource grading seven percent zinc. As the known resource is not sufficient
to warrant the construction of a mill, any production decision is contingent
upon the Company entering into a custom milling arrangement unless the known
resource can be increased by further exploration work. So far, discussions
with the owners of existing mills indicate that milling capacity may not be
available to Cancor for the foreseeable future. In the meantime Cancor will
continue its exploration program to increase the known resources.
Cancor's second advanced project is the Company's B Zone deposit on the
Gemini-Turgeon property, host to a geological resource of two million tons
mineralized in zinc, copper, and gold. Gold producer IAMGOLD-Québec (formerly
Cambior) is co-venturing with Cancor on this project. IAMGOLD has so far spent
$2 million out of a $2.5M exploration budget to earn a 37.5% of interest in
the property. CVRD (formerly Inco) retains a 25% non-participating interest in
the project. Cancor's objective with its Gemini-Turgeon property is to pursue
a course of patient and careful value assessment to upgrade existing assets in
order to bring them to the next stage. 63 new claims were added to the
property covering an important part of the base metal host horizon to the
south. A Titan-24 survey has been completed on and around the B Zone and many
targets has been delineated for further investigation. A new round of drilling
is planned by Iamgold.
Search for new acquisitions: Cancor's "raison d'être" remains
exploration. The discovery of valuable resource properties constitutes its
primary mission. The assessment of possible development and mining operations
at Kistabiche and Gemini does not change the Company's long-term function as
an explorer. Accordingly, Cancor constantly searches for opportunities. The
prices of all base metal commodities have risen. Accordingly, in addition to
gold, copper and zinc, Cancor is also looking for positions in nickel, cobalt,
platinum and palladium.
To broaden its exploration capacity, Cancor has engaged a senior
geologist to assist M. Khobzi and oversee all of its exploration projects and
evaluate possible new acquisitions. He will evaluate all interesting potential
properties in the known ore-bearing regions of Quebec and elsewhere. Cancor
aims to become involved in properties by way of claim staking, buy-out,
acquisition, or joint venture.

Cancor Mines Inc. and SOQUEM are 50/50 partners in the Kistabiche
project. SOQUEM is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Société générale de

weeks ahead, Cancor will be redesigning the site to make it still more
informative and useful.
