Canadians would travel, upgrade gadgets, even buy more groceries if they weren't stuck in wireless contracts

Mobilicity announces National Break Your Wireless Contract Day on June 25th
- $200 credit to help Canadians make the move to affordable wireless

TORONTO, June 21, 2011 /CNW/ - Canadians would travel the world, invest in education, upgrade their gadgets - even buy more groceries - if they could get out of paying outrageously expensive wireless rates to the country's incumbent carriers, according to new data from Mobilicity.

The unlimited wireless carrier today released findings from its recent Savings Challenge contest with the announcement of National Break Your Wireless Contract Day, to be held at Mobilicity stores across Canada on Saturday, June 25th.

For one day only, the rising unlimited carrier will provide a $200 credit to consumers across Canada whom break their contracts and switch to any of Mobilicity's unlimited wireless plans with the purchase any Mobilicity handset. The company's unlimited talk, text and data service is priced as low as $35 a month.

"National Break Your Wireless Contract Day has all the makings of being the biggest one-day event in the history of the Canadian wireless industry," said Chief Customer Officer Anthony Booth. "Our goal is to help take the sting out of the Big Three carriers' excessive contract termination fees and put significant savings into Canadians' pockets. There's never been a better time to switch to Mobilicity."
