    TORONTO, March 29 /CNW/ - As the saying goes, you only have one chance to
make a first impression and when it comes to perceived confidence, a
clean-shaven man takes the cake. According to a recent survey by Panasonic
Canada/Decima, nearly 60 per cent of Canadians feel a clean shave asserts the
most confidence and style, while bearded men come off as the least
    "We spoke with men and women across the country and discovered a
compelling link between facial hair and first impressions," said Gina
Farrugia, Product Manager, Panasonic Canada. "Forget smiles and suits; if
you're hiding behind a beard people might perceive you as less confident."
    From stubble to beards, where male grooming habits are concerned 41 per
cent of women surveyed felt the opposite sex could use some assistance, while
only 19 per cent of men admitted to needing some help.

    In light of this grooming debate, Panasonic Canada is offering an
exclusive male makeover contest and shopping spree. The "Clean Up Your Act!"
Makeover contest is an opportunity to spruce up a significant other, father,
