Canadian Singh Sabha Gurdwara Condemns All Acts of Violence

SURREY, BC, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - The Canadian Singh Sabha Gurdwara condemns all
acts of violence or threats of violence to any persons or groups.
Recently, Surinder Kaur Parmar, widow of Talwinder Singh Parmar, asked
the Canadian Singh Sabha Gurdwara Society to permit her to book the Gurdwara
facility for private services. A Gurdwara is a place of worship for everyone
irrespective of race, religion, gender, caste, or socio-economic status.
Consistent with this, Mrs. Surinder Kaur Parmar was permitted to book the
facility for private services.
However, any views expressed by Mrs. Parmar or her invited guests during
their private function are their personal views and do not reflect the views
of the society. In Sikhism, the issue of who is a martyr or not, is a decision
made by the highest Sikh authority.
The Society recognizes that there are very serious allegations against
Mr. Parmar. We do not support any of the views or actions alleged to have been
performed by him or his associates. We condemn the Air India bombing and hope
that the Air India Commission of Inquiry will provide the victims' families
with some answers and aid in the healing process. The wrongful taking of any
life is reprehensible.
