Executive Officer of Fournier Industries inc. of Thetford Mines, Mr. Harold
Roy, is proud to announce that the company recently picked up a 16 million
dollar contract to manufacture equipment for the Mining Corporation Osisko to
develop the property of Canadian Malartic, consisting of an open-air gold mine
situated in the heart of the gold-bearing Abitibi region, just south of the
municipality of Malartic Quebec.
"This first contract with Osisko is a major project for our company.
Estimated at about $16M, this contract will allow us to maintain more than 65
full-time jobs in the company, and thus for a period of one year", according
to the vice-president and chief executive officer of Fournier Industries inc.
Since last October, Fournier Industries inc. has been working on the
development of the project with the management of Osisko. The company
specialized mainly in the mining and heavy industrial sectors will see to
supply Osisko with its needs of mining equipment. Mr. Roy is moreover anxious
to collaborate with the Vice-President of Engineering and Construction at
Osisko, Mr. Luc Lessard. Born and raised in the region, he knows very well the
realizations and the expertise of Fournier Industries inc. in the mining
