Canadian Gift And Tableware Association Announces New Agreement That Brings Canadian Toy Association to CGTA Gift Show

         - Nation's Largest Toy Show Moves to International Centre in
                               January 2010 -

    TORONTO, June 8 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of the Canadian Gift and
Tableware Association (CGTA), the country's premiere association for
manufacturers, suppliers, importers and exporters of gift, housewares, home
décor and tableware, has announced a long-term relationship with the Canadian
Toy Association (CTA) that will see the CTA's annual toy show move to the
International Centre, where the CGTA hosts its twice-yearly trade show in
January and August. The agreement will mean an infusion of new, qualified
retail buyers attending the shows, each of which is the biggest of their kind
in Canada.
    "The addition of the Canadian Toy Association show to the International
Centre show floor highlights the continued importance of the International
Centre to our retailer guests and increases the scope of offerings available
to the thousands of retail buyers who attend our shows," said Peter Moore,
Executive Director of the Canadian Gift and Tableware Association. "It also
reflects the continued vitality of trade shows, which annually contribute more
than $1 billion to the Greater Toronto Area economy."
    Beginning January 2010, the annual Canadian Toy Association show -
Canada's largest trade show for toys, games, seasonal and hobby products -
will be hosted in Hall 6 at the International Centre, one of two locations
occupied by the CGTA Gift Show, along with the Toronto Congress Centre.
Covering a total of more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space, the CGTA
Gift Show is Canada's largest trade show and the second largest gift trade
show in North America.
    "This is an important opportunity to give our members access to an
increased traffic of qualified retail buyers. This is a critical buying time
for retail and this opportunity will bolster the already significant economic
impact of the shows," said CTA Chairman, Jeff Hurst.
