Canadian Doctors for Medicare - Media briefing August 19, Vancouver

    The Canadian Medical Association Annual Meeting - Implications for

    OTTAWA, Aug. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Dr. Brian Day's presidency and the CMA's
recent "Medicare Plus" policy paper proposing two-tier medicine and private
insurance have serious implications for Canadian health care. Canadian Doctors
for Medicare is holding a media briefing to discuss motions for debate and the
potential impact of activity based funding - payment by results - on Medicare.
    The media conference will be followed by a presentation on the evidence
for publicly-funded and publicly-delivered health care, and a free screening
