Canada's top young Aboriginal talent come to Vancouver to meet - and find jobs - with hiring companies at Inclusion Works '09

    VANCOUVER, April 2 /CNW/ - In Canada's largest Aboriginal employment
event of the year, Inclusion Works '09 is set to bring together 100 of
Canada's top notch post-secondary Aboriginal students and graduates with many
of Canada's leading companies at a unique hiring fair in Vancouver. Kicking
off the event April 6, 2009, the recruitment fair will be a hands-on,
interactive day where top Aboriginal talent can meet with recruiters,
interview with hiring companies, learn skills on how to land jobs, and
ultimately be hired by one of the attending companies.
    Organized by the Aboriginal Human Resources Council (
Inclusion Works '09 is dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of
hiring Aboriginal workers, and to helping employers become better versed in
Aboriginal diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
    "Day one is set aside to help showcase Aboriginal talent in Canada and
connect this talent to employers that are recruiting and building inclusive
workplaces of choice for Aboriginal people," says Kelly Lendsay, President and
CEO of AHRC. "In one venue, employers have access to some of the best and
brightest Aboriginal minds from post-secondary institutions across Canada,
while the potential employees have the opportunity to meet with Canada's most
forward-looking employers from a variety of industries. Our goal is for our
attendees to walk out of that room with a new career and a renewed hope for
the future."

    The Aboriginal Human Resource Council, formed in 1998, is a national
public-private, not-for-profit organization. Its mandate is to advance the
full participation of Aboriginal people in Canada's labour market on a
national level.
