CAE inaugurates CAE SimuFlite North East Training Centre and announces further expansion

MORRISTOWN, NJ, June 7 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE
celebrated today the grand opening of its new business aviation training
centre, the CAE SimuFlite North East Training Centre, located near the
Morristown airport in New Jersey. At the same time, plans were announced to
expand the centre from six simulator bays to 12 in order to meet increased
"This centre is an illustration of our commitment to provide
high-quality, customized training in locations most convenient to our
customers. Approximately 60% of the world's business aviation is located in
the United States and a big part of that is within a 500-mile radius of
Morristown," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Innovation and Civil
Training & Services. "With business aircraft deliveries expected to increase
by approximately 40% over the next few years, we offer business jet operators
greater access to quality training through a network with global reach."
CAE now operates 24 civil training centres, and four of them serve
business aviation. The two newest business aviation centres are the CAE
SimuFlite North East Training Centre in New Jersey and CAE's Burgess Hill
Training Centre in the UK. These training facilities join Emirates-CAE Flight
Training in Dubai and CAE SimuFlite, the Company's flagship facility in
Dallas, Texas, home of the world's largest business aviation training facility
with 36 simulators.
The six-bay North East Training Centre will be the home of entitlement
training for the new Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft, as well as training for
Falcon 900EX EASy, Falcon 2000EX EASy, Gulfstream IV, and Sikorsky S-76
aircraft. Other platforms will be added in the future, including a
fully-convertible Gulfstream 450/550 full-flight simulator. The centre offers
the highest standard of training and the latest training tools, including
classrooms and briefing rooms equipped with CAE Simfinity(R), a suite of
training devices that use the same high-fidelity simulation software found in
CAE's full-flight simulators. The use of this innovative PC-based technology
enables operational training in a virtual cockpit from the first day of
training in the classroom.
Maintenance technician training on the CAE-built Falcon 7X full-flight
simulator began before aircraft certification, while pilot training began the
day of the aircraft certification. This simulator is the first ever created
for this fly-by-wire business jet.
