TORONTO, Dec. 5 /CNW/ - To many entrepreneurs, one of the great mysteries
of life is how banks come to their lending decisions. Of course, this notion
applies primarily to those business owners who are turned down for a loan
despite making a perfectly acceptable request for credit - at least in their
own eyes. So, how do banks really come to their decisions and what can be done
to make those decisions fall more often in your favour? Bob Bissett, BMO's
senior vice president of commercial banking for the greater Toronto area joins
PROFIT editor Ian Portmouth, in the Business Coach podcast available today, to
discuss lending, credit scoring, and tips on receiving bank financing.
Rated as one of the top podcasts available for download during the run of
its first episode on Apple iTunes, the new Business Coach episodes offer new
insight and information in an updated format to help small business owners run
their business better. Since October of 2007 podcast episodes have been
regularly available on iTunes, as well as on bmo.com and PROFITguide.com.
Previous releases include: "Lessons from the Dragons' Den," "Economic
Outlook," "Building an advisory board," "Family business," Personal finance,"
"Better Workplaces," and "Social Media." One further episodes is scheduled for
release on December 18th, with more to come in the new year.
The Business Coach podcast is offered in both English and French, with
the English language interviews hosted by Ian Portsmouth and broadcaster André
Hains leading the Francophone episodes. The podcast is produced by PROFIT in
cooperation with BMO Bank of Montreal.
