Building an RSP and financial security for someone in need

VANCOUVER, Jan. 17 /CNW/ - With a Citizens Bank RSP, Canadians can create
a solid foundation for their own future, and help build a house for someone in
For every $1,000 invested at Citizens Bank during this year's RSP season,
we will donate $10 to Habitat for Humanity Canada, up to a maximum of $50,000.
The funds will go toward building new homes for people in need in Vancouver,
Calgary and Toronto.
"We're especially happy to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity Canada
this year because their goals fit really well with our own," said Jason
Farris, president and CEO, Citizens Bank of Canada. "We're a bank that's
always been committed to using our resources to make a difference in the world
around us. Helping people build a basic financial necessity - a place to call
home - is a great goal for our RSP season."
"We are pleased to launch this national partnership with Citizens Bank of
Canada, a company that has been supporting our efforts through local
affiliates for a number of years," said David Hughes, president and CEO of
Habitat for Humanity Canada. "The Citizens Bank RSP program is a great way to
involve Canadians in helping give a 'hand up' to families in need, while
helping build security for their own futures."
Citizens Bank offers a great range of financial products for the RSP
investor. We have some excellent rates on our fixed term deposits, our popular
Ultimate Savings Account is currently paying 4.1 per cent, and for people who
are short on cash for an RSP this year, we have loans at prime minus one per
cent. We also offer mutual funds.
And for those who want to simplify their investing life and transfer some
of their RSPs from another financial institution, it's no problem at all,
we'll even cover the $25 transfer fee.

we're offering.
This year's RSP contribution deadline is February 29, 2008.

    About Citizens Bank of Canada

Citizens Bank is built on the premise that all companies have a
responsibility to use their resources to make a positive difference in the
world around them. Formed by Vancity in 1997 as a branchless, national bank
that would take the largest credit union in Canada beyond the borders of B.C.,
we were the first and we're still the only bank with a clear ethical policy.
Corporate social responsibility is more than a catch-phrase, it's part of our
DNA. We're available 24/7 on the Internet, or on the phone through out
National Contact Centre, where we offer a broad range of financial products
and services.
