OTTAWA, May 4 /CNW Telbec/ - The Joint Review Panel for the proposed
Bruce Power New Nuclear Power Plant Project located in the municipality of
Kincardine, Ontario, invites the public to attend a technical information
session in Ottawa regarding proposed nuclear power plant designs, based on
three different reactor technologies.
The objective of the half-day session is to provide information on these
technologies in order to allow the panel to acquire an understanding of the
principal features of the designs and their layouts, the key plant operational
parameters, the overall normal operation, the approaches to the control and
mitigation of potential accidents, and the key similarities and differences.

The Bruce Power New Nuclear Power Plant Project is a proposal for the
site preparation, and the construction, operation, decommissioning and
abandonment of up to four new nuclear reactors at the existing Bruce Nuclear
Site, located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, north of Kincardine. The
project is expected to generate approximately 4000 megawatts of electricity to
the Ontario grid.
This technical information session is being held during the comment
period on the project's Environmental Impact Statement and Application for a
