MONTREAL, June 12, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - BRP designers today revealed the
trophies of the 2011 edition of the Formula One Grand Prix du Canada.
The designers were inspired by local artistic, cultural and
technological landmarks, as well as Canada's emblem for its form and
The concept of BRP designers André Côté, Ivan Brousseau and Steve
Tétreault won an internal competition within BRP's Design & Innovation
group. In their regular duties, the three designers belong to the
award-winning Sea-Doo and Ski-Doo team, developing cutting-edge designs
for boats, watercraft and snowmobiles.
"This opportunity to work on a completely different project forced us
out of our comfort zone," said BRP's Denys Lapointe, executive
vice-president of Design & Innovation. "While our mandate is to create
the recreational vehicles of the future, changing focus was
challenging, stimulating and so rewarding for my team."
BRP was approached by Octane Racing Group because of its reputation for
design excellence, having received numerous design awards. The winning
concept by BRP designers Côté, Brousseau and Tétreault was chosen
amongst six design proposals from several teams. The jury was comprised
of Octane and BRP representatives and selected two contenders based on
criteria's such as originality, strength of symbolic, feasibility,
while respecting F1 trophy guidelines. The final selection was made by
the management of Grand Prix du Canada with F1 officials.

Valcourt by Denys Lapointe has been very productive," said François
