'Bringing a Dish' Just Got Easier

Five Sassy Sisters make it easy as pie to make a pie

RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 6 /CNW/ -- Early morning shopping, decorating the
house, holiday crowds, and a busy time in the kitchen. And to top it all off,
your calendar is filling up with holiday parties, family dinners, office
potlucks, and school suppers all with that common plea to "bring a dish." Its
just not as simple or convenient as it sounds during this time of year...or is
it? "You Want me to Bring 'a Dish'?" ( www.lulu.com/content/1284044 ) is a
new cookbook available now and making the holiday season a little less
Emmy nominated television producer Catherine Dyer comes from behind the
scenes to in front of the stove. With the help of her four irrepressible
sisters, Dyer makes it easy to be the culinary life of the party without
breaking a sweat (or a nail). Published on Lulu.com, the online platform to
create, buy and sell digital content, these five cooking-challenged sisters
make bringing a dish as easy as well...pie.
This fun and lighthearted cookbook is full of simple recipes that will
leave people thinking you slaved in the kitchen for days - leaving you more
time to actually enjoy the holiday season. Included are conversion charts and
a handy glossary for those who are not fluent in kitchen-speak.
When these sisters decided to collect the quick and easy recipes,
figuring out what the next step was the hardest part. "The very thought of
finding a traditional publisher was enough to stop me from moving ahead with
the project," says Dyer. "Knowing that at the end of the whole Lulu process
I'd have an actual copy of the book in my hand was thrilling."
Even some of the easiest cookbooks have complicated recipes, not this
one. With recipes like Painless Party Rollups or Easy Chicken Nuggets, being
cooking-challenged is no longer a problem.

    Painless Party Rollups Directions:
Prep: 10 minutes Serves: 16 Mix cream cheese spread and blue

smoked salmon (you can substitute leaves on top of salmon (be sure
w/ ham or turkey) to tear the stems off). Roll
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (you tortillas very tightly
can substitute feta cheese which (ingredients will shift as you
is not as pungent as blue cheese) roll). Tightly wrap rolls
4 four tortillas (you can use any individually with plastic wrap
flavor, but the green spinach ones and chill for 2 hours. (It's
look good) important to chill for at least
1 cup baby spinach leaves 2 hours because it solidifies
Plastic wrap the wraps). Remove plastic just
                                            before serving and cut each
                                            roll-up into pieces.
                                            Arrange on plate and serve!

    Easy Chicken Nuggets Directions:
Ingredients: Drive to your nearest grocery
1 car store. Go to the deli department.
12 dollars Order 2 pounds of fried chicken
                                            nuggets. Return home.
Place chicken nuggets in a fancy
serving dish. You can serve them
with a dipping sauce if they're
not already made with it (honey
                                            mustard, BBQ, teriyaki, etc.).
They'll be the first things to
                                            disappear on the buffet table.
