Bridgewater Systems Enables VeriSign to Support Wireless Data Roaming Solution Across Multiple Broadband Networks

Proven Network Access Control Plays Critical Role in 1xEV-DO Rev. A and
WiMAX Service Delivery

ORLANDO, FLA., March 27 /CNW/ - Bridgewater Systems, a leading developer
of subscriber-centric policy management software for IP-based services, today
announced it is providing core network access technology for the VeriSign
Wireless Data Roaming Service (WDRS). The Bridgewater Systems solution
provides a common network access control solution that enables VeriSign to
support the necessary authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA)
functions for data clearing with their roaming partners over multiple networks
including CDMA 1X, 1xEV-DO Rel. 0 and Rev. A, and now WiMAX networks.

Increasing subscriber reliance on sticky mobile data services is driving
demand for data roaming, enabling subscribers to access their "home" data
services while outside their own network's coverage. Clearinghouse services,
such as those offered by VeriSign, track and negotiate subscriber activity
between rural, national and international carriers to ensure seamless coverage
across multiple networks -- as well as reconciliation of accounting records
and payments between roaming partners. These services allow carriers to bring
advanced data services to market quickly without the logistical complexity and
security concerns of implementing and maintaining multiple data roaming

Following the establishment of a technology partnership with VeriSign in
2004, Bridgewater has provided proven network access control solutions to
support the VeriSign WDRS. VeriSign can leverage the same proven carrier-grade
Bridgewater solution to support WDRS across multiple networks including CDMA
1X, 1xEV-DO Rel. 0, and now next-generation 1xEV-DO Rev. A and WiMAX services
as VeriSign customers deploy high bandwidth data services such as streaming
media. Because the Bridgewater solution is access technology agnostic, the
VeriSign WDRS will be able to support CDMA and WiMAX data roaming customers
simultaneously with a common Bridgewater network access control

"Supporting multiple access technologies and their latest revisions
through a single AAA platform makes for a simpler and more scalable solution
for VeriSign," said Tyler Nelson, vice president of business development and
marketing for Bridgewater Systems. "We've specifically designed our products
to provide the carrier-grade scalability and performance required to serve
multiple network types simultaneously. As a result, VeriSign can provide
industry leading data roaming services across an even broader customer base --
to support 3G and now WiMAX data services."

To enable its WDRS, VeriSign has implemented the Bridgewater Systems AAA
Service Controller as well as the optional Revenue Collector and Formatter
module. Designed to support networks as they grow, the Bridgewater AAA Service
Controller features proven performance in live deployments ranging from 5,000
to more than 62 million provisioned users and transaction volumes of up to 10
billion per month. The Revenue Collector and Formatter collects, correlates
and aggregates event-based accounting data into single-session records that
identify subscribers and their usage. It then filters, formats and streams
these records to external billing and settlement systems, providing an
affordable alternative to custom mediation solutions. The overall solution
also provides reporting capabilities to assist in accurate roaming

"VeriSign is committed to supplying service providers with a proven data
roaming solution they can trust," said Lee Huggins, vice president for
VeriSign's Wireless Commerce Division. "With Bridgewater's industry-leading
technology, we can confidently ramp up and scale capacity to support our
customers' new 3G/4G broadband initiatives and technology choices."

The VeriSign WDRS is a carrier-grade, outsource solution that enables
service providers to offer continuous wireless data roaming to their
subscribers over a variety of wireless networks. VeriSign's turn-key approach
helps service providers minimize capital expenditures while providing all the
essential components of a complete and robust service.

Meet Bridgewater Systems at CTIA Wireless 2007, booth #4653. VeriSign can
