TORONTO, Sept. 7 /CNW/ - The Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney has announced plans
to embark on a national tour to present his Brian Mulroney: Memoirs to the
Canadian public.
The book, which spans the years from 1939 to 1993, is a monumentally
honest look at the personal and political life of one of Canada's most
influential leaders. In the work, Mr. Mulroney talks frankly about the
momentous events that transpired during his tenure as prime minister and
offers great insight into both his triumphs and perceived failures. From the
glory of his back-to-back majority government victories; to his leading role
in the struggle to end South African apartheid; to the rise of separatist
forces; to the ultimate failure of the Meech Lake Accord - no controversial
subject is left unaddressed.
To coincide with the release of the book, CTV and TVA will present the
two-hour primetime documentary Triumph & Treachery: The Brian Mulroney Story
at 7:00pm on Sunday, September 9.
