Bramalea-Gore-Malton Liberal Candidate Sets Trap, Catches Self

BRAMPTON, ON, Oct. 13 /CNW/ - After making unfounded allegations of sign
vandalism and theft Sunday morning, the Gurbax Singh Malhi campaign was caught
doing exactly that Sunday afternoon.
"Mr. Malhi and his campaign manager went out of their way to fabricate an
allegation against my campaign and then they got caught doing exactly what
they accused us of," said Conservative Party candidate, Stella Ambler. "It's
quite remarkable that they would stoop to such a level."
On Sunday morning, Gurbax Singh Malhi's campaign manager filed a police
report and contacted a television network to make false allegations against
the Stella Ambler campaign. Then, in the afternoon, Malhi campaign workers,
youth in Malhi t-shirts under the supervision of an adult were caught on
camera removing a Stella Ambler campaign sign from a private residence.
The Ambler campaign has turned its evidence over to Peel Regional Police
but will refrain from pressing charges against the youth involved.
"Gurbax Singh Malhi has been a Member of Parliament for 15 years yet he
has so little respect for the law that he uses youth to do his dirty work",
said Ambler. "It really is shameful. It really shows why we need a new Member
of Parliament in Bramalea-Gore-Malton."
