VICTORIA, Oct. 10 /CNW/ - Over 100 small and family business owners will
gather in Victoria this month to participate in some mind-expanding
entrepreneurial calisthenics with leading small business development experts.
"Small businesses fuel our BC economy," states Sandra Gibbs, Small
Business Bootcamp Founder, "they account for nearly 98 per cent of all
businesses in British Columbia, and nearly six out of 10 private-sector jobs.
Yet small business owners are often overlooked when it comes to business
development and educational opportunities."
The third semi-annual session of Small Business Bootcamp takes place at
the Laurel Point Inn, in Victoria, October 25th - 27th. The Bootcamp is an
intensive, hands-on, resort destination small business conference and trade
Recruits will hear inspirational speakers "from the trenches" such as the
keynote speaker, Isabelle Mercier Turcotte, whose accomplishments include
growing a business by 400% in each of ten years in a row! Other key Drill
Sergeants include people who not only have expertise in their business
specialty, but each lead their own highly successful businesses.
Prominent business leaders will give recruits hands-on experience in a
wide choice of workshops covering topics such as; financial and tax
strategies, business law, goal setting, marketing, technology, human
resources, branding and other aspects of small business management, with trade
show space and networking opportunities to help in promoting recruits'
businesses. "War stories" will be shared over rations with highly accomplished
small business owners.
"Every recruit will de-camp with a footlocker of ideas, inspiration and
tangible tools to grow their businesses to the next level," says Gibbs.
"Bootcamp is now a semi-annual event, so we are looking forward to this year's
