Body Blue Moves to CHEP

Personal care products maker is using both Canadian and US pallets

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 29 /CNW/ - Body Blue, a leading maker of personal
care products, today announced that it is shipping products on pallets from
CHEP, the global leader in equipment pooling solutions. The company, which
specializes in contract manufacturing for leading brand marketers, is now
shipping product on CHEP pallets from its facility here to the distribution
centres of those marketers in both Canada and the United States.
Prior to using CHEP, Body Blue used an exchange pallet system in Canada
and one-way white wood pallets for shipments to the USA. The company wanted to
improve customer service, enhance pallet quality and consistency and align
itself with the requirements of its customers.
"It is clear to us the CHEP program is of benefit to our customers and
provides us with the opportunity to help save us and our customers time and
money. In addition to the opportunity for productivity improvements and
transportation savings, we know our partners are realizing significant
benefits from the program," said Duncan Coopland, Vice President, Sales and
Marketing, Body Blue.
Contract manufacturing is a rapidly growing segment of the global
consumer packaged goods industry, and holds significant opportunities for
CHEP.
"The move by Body Blue marks an important advance in total supply chain
efficiency as more brand companies move to outsource their manufacturing
activities. We are committed to providing them and the other companies in this
expanding sector with innovative solutions to their product handling
challenges," said Jason Adlam, Director, Sales and Customer Service, CHEP
Canada.
