Blue Jays recall trio

    TORONTO, May 22 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have recalled RHP CASEY
JANSSEN & INF JOE INGLETT effective today May 22. LHP RICKY ROMERO will be
recalled in time to make his scheduled start on Tuesday May 26 in Baltimore.
Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).
    JANSSEN, 27, has made five minor league starts between Dunedin (A) and
New Hampshire (AA) this season, posting a 0.76 ERA, with five walks and 17
strikeouts in 23.2 innings. The Huntington Beach, California resident last
pitched in the majors in 2007, spending 2008 rehabbing a torn labrum. In 89
career games (17 starts), he has recorded an 8-13 record with a 3.89 ERA. The
6'4, 210 pound right-hander will start at Atlanta tomorrow.
    ROMERO, 24, is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA after three starts this season, his
first in the major leagues, prior to suffering an oblique strain. The 6-0, 210
lb, left-hander, has since made three minor league starts, going 0-1 with a
6.91 ERA at three levels. Romero won his major league debut on April 9th over
the Detroit Tigers (6.0IP, 7H, 2ER, 2BB, 5K). Ricky was the Blue Jays first
round selection, sixth overall in the 2005 first year player draft.
    INGLETT, 30, has been limited to seven games at Las Vegas (AAA) due to a
hamstring pull. In his 29 at-bats, is hitting .310 with one double. The
Copley, Ohio resident appeared in 109 games last season with the Blue Jays,
posting a .297 average with 3 home runs and 39 RBI.
