Brad Mills to make Debut
TORONTO, June 17 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed RHP CASEY
JANSSEN on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder.
The move will be retro-active to June 14, the day following his last
appearance. LHP BRAD MILLS will have his contract selected and is scheduled to
make a start on Thursday in Philadelphia, his major league debut.
JANSSEN, 27, has posted a 2-3 record with a 6.23 ERA in five starts for
the Blue Jays this season. The Huntington Beach, California resident is 10-16
with a 4.20 ERA in 94 games, including 22 starts over parts of three seasons.
MILLS, 24, has made 13 starts for the Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast
League this season, posting a 1-8 record with a 4.48 ERA. The Mesa, Arizona
native has held opponents to three or less runs in 10 of his 13 starts, while
allowing only six home runs to PCL hitters. A 4th round pick of the 2007
draft, Mills is in his 3rd professional season and has a 16-13 mark with a
2.76 ERA in 46 games, including 245 strikeouts in his 241.2 innings.
