Blue Jays disable Romero

    TORONTO, April 23 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed LHP RICKY
ROMERO on the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique muscle strain. The
move is retro-active to April 20.
    ROMERO, 24, is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA after three starts this season, his
first in the major leagues. The 6-0, 210 lb. native of Los Angeles, California
won his major league debut on April 9th over the Detroit Tigers (6.0IP, 7H,
2ER, 2BB, 5K). Romero was the Blue Jays first round selection, sixth overall
in the 2005 first year player draft.
    A further roster move will be made prior to Saturday's game at Chicago.
