Blue Jays add Burres and Bullington to roster

    TORONTO, April 24 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have selected the
contract of LHP BRIAN BURRES and RHP BRYAN BULLINGTON from Las Vegas of the
Pacific Coast League (AAA)

    BURRES, 28, is 0-2 this season with a 6.97 ERA in three games, two starts
for the Las Vegas 51s this season. In his most recent start on April 19, he
allowed two earned runs over 6.0 innings against Colorado Springs. The 6-1,
181lb. left-hander was 7-10 last season with a 6.04 ERA for the Baltimore
Orioles in 31 games, 22 starts. The Oregon City, Oregon native has a major
league record of 13-18 with a 5.88 ERA in 79 games, 39 starts. Burres is
scheduled to make the start on Saturday in Chicago.

    BULLINGTON, 28, has posted a 1-1 record with a 1.86 ERA in four relief
appearances for Las Vegas. The Indianapolis, Indiana native has fanned 10
batters and walked only one in his 9.2 innings of work. The first overall
selection of the 2002 draft by the Pirates, Bullington has appeared in nine
major league games (five starts), recording a 0-5 mark with a 5.45 ERA, with
Pittsburgh (2005-07) and Cleveland (2008).
