TORONTO, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Income Fund announced that
Bird Construction Company has been awarded contracts valued at $177 million
for the construction of the Suncor Firebag Administration Complex and Village
Camp Core at an oil sands plant north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Due to the
nature of the work and current market conditions, the work is being awarded in
segments on a progressive basis by the owner. Construction is underway and the
work awarded to date is scheduled for completion in 2009.
After deducting construction revenue and backlog included in the Fund's
financial statements and MD&A up to September 30, 2007, these recent awards
will add an additional $143 million to its backlog.
