Bird Construction Income Fund announces award of Potash project and preferred proponent status on Moncton schools


    TORONTO, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Income Fund announces that
Bird Construction Company has been awarded a contract for the construction of
an industrial building for the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. at
their Rocanville, Saskatchewan facility. Work on the project will begin
immediately and is expected to be completed by the spring of 2011.
    Bird Construction Company also is part of the Scotia Learning Centres
Inc. consortium that has recently been selected as the preferred proponent to
construct two schools totaling 170,000 square feet. The projects are located
in Rexton and Moncton, New Brunswick. Bird's role in the consortium is to
design and construct the facilities. The project is expected to reach
financial close in the next 30 days.
    The total value of the Rocanville Potash and New Brunswick Schools
projects is approximately $132 million.
