BioExx Joins Colorado Center for BioRefining and BioFuels

    TORONTO, June 19 /CNW/ - Bio-Extraction Inc. (TSX-V: BXI) ("BioExx")
( is pleased to announce it has it has agreed to join
the Colorado Center for BioRefining and BioFuels. Known as C2B2, the Center's
mission is to become the world's leading center for research on the conversion
of biomass to fuels and other products. "Our vision extends from crops to
chemicals to fuels," said Ryan Gill, CU-Boulder assistant professor of
chemical and biological engineering and C2B2's managing director. "We aim to
speed the development of an entirely new industry in an area of critical
national need."
To achieve this goal, the Center has invited several key companies to
become associate members. The Center includes some of North America's leading
energy and chemical companies as well as a few carefully selected companies
that have demonstrated technologies which can have a significant positive
impact on the BioFuels industry. All of the approximately twenty members will
meet at least twice per year and numerous one-on-one interactions are expected
to ensue. C2B2 will work to create new technologies for the production of
transportation fuels and other valuable products from plants. In addition to
transportation fuels, biorefining promises to create new sources of
agricultural fertilizers, synthetic fibers for clothing and other uses,
plastics and commercial chemicals. For more details on C2B2, and a more
detailed list of its members, please follow this link to an article in the
Denver post:
BioExx was asked to join the Center because it owns technology that
allows for the extraction of virtually 100% of the oils from oilseed crops
while at the same time maintaining a significant percentage of the proteins,
in their highest value form. Other known processes for separating the oil from
the seed recover a significantly lower percentage of oil and/or denature the
proteins because high temperature is being applied in the extraction process.
Since the proteins can have a significant saleable value, the added revenue
can substantially reduce the cost of producing biodiesel and other industrial
oilseed-based products.
"We believe that C2B2 provides an excellent platform for BioExx to
develop and to demonstrate its unique technology to some of the most important
companies in the BioFuels industry and we believe that BioExx can make a
significant contribution toward the success of the Center," says Chris Carl,
President of BioExx. "We look forward to becoming a very active participant in
what will undoubtedly become one of North America's leading organizations
involved in the development of a mature and sustainable BioFuels industry."

    About Bio-Extraction Inc.

BioExx is involved in the development and commercialization of extraction
technology, which it intends to use to extract various active ingredients from
organic and inorganic materials, as a service to industrial customers. Global
in scope, the BioExx target markets include extractions in pharmaceutical,
nutraceutical, food oils and fixed oils (including bio-fuels) and industrial
cleansing (eg. specialty steels). Versus traditional technologies, the BioExx
technology can provide customers with the benefit of lower extraction costs,
higher quality extracted materials, and incremental revenue opportunities as
its extraction process does not destroy inherent proteins and other valuable
compounds - with all this being completed in an environmentally responsible
