Bike to Work Week cyclists get Canuck Fever and show the flag!

VANCOUVER, May 31, 2011 /CNW/ - Penticton, B.C. resident Mark Woods sported some unusual cycling gear at a Bike to Work Week celebration refreshment station in Penticton early Tuesday morning. A Canucks car flag was firmly attached to the back of his bike helmet and flapped in the breeze as he cycled to work. A regular Canucks jersey completed the ensemble. "It is getting a lot of attention," he says. "But after all who is not a fan of the Canucks these days?"

Bike to Work Week runs from May 30-June 5 throughout the province of B.C. and organizers are encouraging participants to wear their Canucks colours.

"Bike to Work Week is all about celebration, fun and health and what better way to add to the celebration this year than by showing support for the Canucks," says Dr. Richard Backus, volunteer president of Bike to Work BC Society, the body coordinating the event throughout British Columbia. "Put on your Canucks gear and colours and send us a photo, and we will post the most innovative on our website. Just be sure to dress and ride safely," he adds.
