Bell Fibe TV takes centre stage at the Toronto International Film Festival

Bell celebrates Fibe TV's one year anniversary with hands-on demonstrations of Canada's most innovative next generation television experience

TORONTO, Sept. 8, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell today announced that it is offering a hands-on opportunity for the public to experience Bell Fibe TV at both David Pecaut Square and the Yonge Eglinton Centre for the duration of the Toronto International Film Festival. Celebrating its one year anniversary as Canada's most innovative television service, Bell Fibe TV is now available to more than a million homes across Toronto and Montréal.

"As lead sponsor of TIFF since 2005, Bell has an established history of supporting one of the world's most respected film festivals," said Loring Phinney, Vice President of Corporate Sponsorship at Bell. "This year we're offering Festival goers and the public a chance to experience firsthand the magic of Bell Fibe TV. With stunning HD picture quality and a huge selection of on demand films, Fibe TV is perfect for movie lovers."

Hands-on Bell Fibe TV demonstrations will be offered from September 8 to 18 at the Bell Boxes located at David Pecaut Square on the King Street sidewalk in front of the Festival red carpet at Roy Thompson Hall, and at the Yonge Eglinton Centre on the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue.

"Bell Fibe TV is a next generation television service platform that offers customers cool new service enhancements on an ongoing basis. For example, the 'whole-home PVR' enables customers to pause and rewind live shows and access recordings from any TV in the home," said Shawn Omstead, Vice President of Product Management at Bell Residential Services. "Since Bell Fibe TV's launch one year ago, we've also introduced customers to the interactive Facebook and Galaxie music apps as well as Bell TV Online and the Remote PVR - features that give access to the Bell Fibe TV service when away from home."

Bell TV Online gives customers online access from anywhere in Canada to popular on demand content from the best networks including HBO Canada, TMN, Disney Playhouse and CTV, Canada's #1 television network as reflected by their subscription packages.
