MONTREAL, Nov. 14 /CNW Telbec/ - The Ecole supérieure de ballet
contemporain de Montréal (ESBCM) organise its annual cocktail fundraising
event, Behind the Scenes at ESBCM, with the Espoir danse Foundation, on
November 27th, 2007 at 6 P.M.
The financial objective of the night is to raise $25,000 which will be
used in scholarships awarded to talented youngsters from underprivileged
backgrounds, or students who come from remote regions. The scholarships help
to cover the inherent costs related to professional dance training, such as
academic classes, housing, professional health care services, summer sessions,
clothing, point shoes and auditions, to name but a few. The school's mandate
is to transform the dream of becoming a dancer into a reality and with this
reality, giving a child a future in the dance world.
The fundraiser is an opportunity to pay tribute to Guy Joron, chairman of
the Fondation Espoir Danse, who will pass on the torch to Monette Malewski.
Mr. Joron will thus become the first honorary member of the Fondation Espoir
Danse. The event will also feature some novel presentations and a visit of the
premises, a peek behind the scenes of the ESBCM.
