Beech-Nut voluntarily recalls pear juice

    TORONTO, March 12 /CNW/ - Beech-Nut Nutrition is voluntarily recalling
its pear juice after a warning from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
and Loblaws Inc.

    Product involved:
    The 128mL Beech-Nut Pear Juice from concentrate with Vitamin C added,
    with the cap codes: 2009 FE02 A0384B0935

    Although there have been no reported incidents or injuries, as a
precautionary measure customers are asked to discontinue the use of this
product immediately.
    The recall follows a warning issued by CFIA and Loblaws cautioning that
the public should not consume certain pear juices for toddlers because these
products may be contaminated with arsenic. Beech-Nut is in full cooperation
with CFIA and Loblaws Inc., and will take all precautions necessary to ensure
there is no risk in consuming the product.
