Back in the saddle again! - Yuk Yuk's ropes in deal to open new club in Calgary, sets sights on Edmonton

    TORONTO, July 2 /CNW/ - Yuk Yuk's, Canada's national comedy club chain,
is pleased to give a six-gun, laugh-roaring salute to its new location in
    Set to open in late summer 2008, the new club will be housed in a
dedicated, custom-built stand-up venue at Elbow River Casino - located
adjacent to the world-famous Stampede Park.
    "Calgary's always been a great market for us both in terms of our club
and talent development," says Yuk Yuk's founder and CEO Mark Breslin. "We've
been a fixture of the Calgary comedy scene for 20 years now and we're excited
to be downtown. We've always believed that stand-up plays best in an urban

    In addition to the new Calgary location, Yuk Yuk's is currently in final
negotiations to open their new club in Edmonton, AB and will be opening in St.
John's, NF in August 2008.
    "We're expanding and exploring new opportunities," says Breslin. "We just
signed a deal with Just For Laughs to be a venue for their Toronto
mini-festival. But as always, we will remain true to our roots. Yuk Yuk's is
committed to featuring the best Canadian comic talent in an appropriate venue
