LONGUEUIL, QC, Sept. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Azimut Exploration Inc. ("Azimut")
and NWT Uranium Corp. ("NWT Uranium") announce that drilling is underway at
the North Rae uranium property in the Ungava Bay region of northern Quebec,
Canada. The drill program started in late August and focuses on high priority
areas, which consist of outcropping radioactive targets. Five holes totalling
362 m have been completed to date. The goal, at this stage, is 20 holes in
five areas for a total of 1,200 metres. Drilling will continue as long as
weather conditions permit.
Thus far, seven radioactive zones have been identified for follow-up work
and grids have been completed on four of those zones (see press release dated
August 8, 2007). The zones display elevated radiometric values ranging from
1,000 to more than 100,000 counts per second (cps), in sharp contrast to
background values of approximately 120 cps. Interpretation of field results is
underway and a significant amount of rock sampling results is pending.
NWT Uranium has planned a budget of $1.5 million for the 2007 program on
the North Rae and adjacent Daniel Lake properties. The properties are under
option from Azimut. At North Rae, planned field expenditures are $1.2 million.
NWT Uranium is the operator for both properties, which collectively include
